Chicago Women’s Cross Country Finishes Fourth at NCAA Championship; Young Earns All-American Status

HANOVER, Ind. – Led by an All-American performance from Catherine Young, the University of Chicago women's cross country team finished tied for fourth place at the NCAA Division III Championship on Saturday.

The fourth-place showing was the best NCAA team finish in school history. UChicago previous best finish was sixth place in 1998. The 2013 NCAA Championship featured a 32-team field and 280 total runners.

Sophomore Catherine Young captured All-American honors by taking ninth place in a time of 21:31.5. She is the 11th All-American in team history. Senior Michaela Whitelaw wrapped up her career by taking 43rd in 22:07.4. Sophomore Brianna Hickey took 60th place in a time of 22:18.1.
