Kelsey Aamoth of CWRU Competes at First NCAA Championship Meet

Competing at the NCAA Championship Meet for the first time in her career, Case Western Reserve University junior Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio/Solon) placed 138th of 280 runners on Saturday afternoon at the Golf Center at Kings Island.

Aamoth, who earned NCAA All-Great Lakes Region honors via an 11th-place finish last Saturday, completed the 6k national course in 23:30.2.

Junior Amy Regan of Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.) was the individual champion with a time of 20:51.9, while senior Lucy Cheadle of Washington University in St. Louis was runner-up in 20:58.7.

Johns Hopkins University (Md.) won its third consecutive team championship.

Aamoth become the first woman from CWRU to compete at the national cross country meet since Natalia Cabrera and Corin Bowen in 2011.
