Spartans Finish Fourth at Knight Invite

Led by senior captain Kristen Ruckstuhl (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) in 13th place, the No. 34 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University women's cross country team placed fourth of 25 teams at Saturday's Knight Invite at the Gainey Athletic Complex.

Host and No. 7 nationally ranked Calvin College swept the top three spots and won the team title with 27 points. University of St. Francis (Ill.) was runner-up with 109, while Aquinas College (Mich.) finished ahead of the Spartans (135) with 124.

Ruckstuhl completed the 5k course in 18:58.4. The next two Spartans to cross the finish line went back-to-back as sophomore Olivia Zabrodsky (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) and junior Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio/Solon) placed 24th (19:11.9) and 25th (19:12.2), respectively.

Rounding out the team scoring was freshman Danielle Kulpins (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield Central) in 35th (19:28.2) and junior Dana Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) in 52nd (19:46.6).
