Maddie Dolins of Brandeis Finishes 10th at Connecticut College Invitational

 The Brandeis University cross country teams had their final tune-up before championship season this afternoon as the Judges took part in the Connecticut College Invitational. The women placed sixth out of 19 teams.

The women finished with 188 points, 65 behind host Conn. College and tied with SUNY-New Paltz in overall score. The Judges earned sixth place over SNP on a tiebreaker, with three of their top five earning higher positioning than the Hawks' top five.

Brandeis sophomore Maddie Dolins (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) led the way for the fourth time this season. Dolins covered the six-kilometer course with a time of 22:43.15. She made the top 10 by more than eight seconds over an opponent from NYU. Dolins earned her second All-Invitational honor in a row, after placing fifth at Conn. College last season. 

Junior Kelsey Whitaker (Kingston, Mass./Notre Dame Acad.) finished in 28th place with a time of 23:33.44 to become the second Brandeis runner across. Sophomore Lydia McCaleb (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) solidified her spot as the team's third runner, placing 38th with a time of 23:47.90 in her first collegiate race at 6K.

Rookie Kyra Shreeve (Northborough, Mass./Algonquin Regional) was fourth on the team and 50th in the race with a time of 23:56.20, while sophomore Ashley Piccirillo-Horan (North Granby, Conn./Granby Central) was 83rd with a mark of 24:33.82, giving the Judges a spread of 1:50 from their first to fifth runners.
