Catherine Knox of Rochester Places In Top-60 At NCAA Championship Meet

Junior Catherine Knox completed her 2014 women's cross country season at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday at the King's Island Golf Center.
 
Knox placed 56th in a field of 275 runners, placing there in a time of 22:51.3 on a muddy 6-kilometer course.  Overall in 2014, the junior defeated nearly 95% of all runners she competed against, earning five top-10 finishes in eight events.
 
The junior earned an individual spot at nationals by virtue of her 10th place finish at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships at Genesee Valley Park last weekend.
 
Johns Hopkins University took home its third straight women's team title with a team score of 87 points.  MIT was 2nd and St. Lawrence was third.
 
The individual champion was Stevens Institute of Technology's Amy Regan who also captured the Atlantic Regional title last weekend.  On Saturday, she clocked in a time of 20:51.9 to win the NCAA title.
