Three Earn All-NYSCTC Honors In 3rd-Place Finish For Rochester

The University of Rochester women's cross country team used three All-Conference selections to finish in 3rd of 10 teams at the NYSCTC Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the St. John Fisher Golf Course.
 
Overall, the Yellowjackets totaled 92 team points to finish 3rd behind winner team champion St. Lawrence (20 points) and 2nd place Ithaca (69 points).
 
Rochester was led by junior Catherine Knox who earned 1st Team All-NYSCTC honors after finishing the 6k course in 5th place of 113 runners.  She posted a time of 22:47.9.
 
Junior Anya Joynt and freshman Brianna Loughran both were 2nd Team All-NYSCTC honorees after finishing in 12th and 14th place respectively.  Joynt crossed the finish line in 23:30.5 and Loughran earned a time of 23:49.9.
 
UR's final two finishers finished right after one another with sophomore Audrey McCarthy placing 31st and senior Alyssa Arre finishing 32nd.
 
Senior Kathryn Woodworth (35th place) and freshman Kirsten Holmberg (45th place) were scored as Rochester's displacers in the event.
 
UR next travels to St. Louis next weekend for the UAA Championships before returning home for the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships in mid-November.
