Tartans Finish Fourth at Annual Carnegie Mellon Cross Country Invitational

The Carnegie Mellon University women's cross country team hosted its annual invitational on Saturday, October 10, in Schenley Park. The Tartans women's cross country team finished fourth overall in a field of 21 teams.

Leading the Tartans was Rekha Schnepf (McLean, Va./Thomas Jefferson HS for Sci. & Tech) with a 15th-place showing after crossing the line in 19:05.6. Sophomore Aparna Alavilli (Hanover, N.H.) was the second Tartan to cross the finish line and her time of 19:13.1 placed her 17th.  Seniors Taylor Maggiacomo (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) and Haley Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo./Palmer) crossed with times of 19:27.4 and 19:32.4. Classmate Kira Ragazzo (Frederick, Md./Urbana) was the fifth Tartanto finish, as she had a time of 1(;58.7.

Rounding out the Tartans scoring were senior Erin Persson (San Antonio, Texas/Saint Mary's Hall) and sophomore Rhiannon Farney (Winston Salem, N.C./Mount Tabor) with times of 20:05.2 and 20:29.7.
