NYU Finishes 22nd at Connecticut Invitational

A contingent of New York University's women's cross country team competed at the Connecticut Invitational hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday, October 17, in New London, CT.

The Violets placed 22nd with 643 points, finishing ahead of Babson College (660) and behind Roger William University (612) over the 6k course. The top-three finishing schools were MIT (62), Tufts University (67) and Keene State University (108).

Sophomore Lara Dorsky was the first Violet to finish. She placed 164th in a time of 25:18.8. Fellow sophomore Natasha Brunstein was next to cross the finish line for NYU coming in 176th place with a time of 25:33.3.

"We are a very young team, and I was proud to see how we ran here," said Assistant Coach Erison Hurtault. "The women keep getting better and better. It is exciting to see."

Overall, 25 teams and 300 people competed.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- In 179th place, freshman Mackenzie Quenneville clocked a time of 25:40.2.

- Sophomore Alexa Goldman placed 209th with a time of 26:17.9.

- Freshman Stephanie Brooks finished 242nd in a time of 27:09.3.
