NYU Competes at Dickinson Invitational

The New York University women's cross country team competed in the 18-team competition at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitaional, hosted by Dickinson College on Saturday, September 26, in Newville, PA.

NYU placed fourth overall (176) out of 18 teams. Host Dickinson (64) placed first, while DeSales University (100) and Carnegie Mellon University (122) closed out the top three.

In the women's 4k, seniors Sarah Sisk, Lily Corsaro and Becky Turlip represented NYU and placed 27th (15:11.79), 31st (15:22.94) and 51st (15:41.69), respectively.

"The women are really improving," said Boylan-Pett. "They still need more time. They were a little tired after the past week of practices, but I liked what I saw today from the team. Big showing today from my seniors."

NYU's top finisher over the 6k course was junior Erica Bohdan, who took 18th in a time of 23:51.34.

Overall, 164 runners competed in the 6k, while 217 took part in the 4k race.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Sophomores Hannah Haley (24:15.33), Emily Dethlefs (24:17.80) and Maggie Lalowski (24:23.30) all finished the 6k together in stride coming in 25th, 26th and 27th.

- Sophomore Lara Dorsky placed 44th in a time of 25:13.20 in the 6k.

- Sophomore Morel Malcolm placed 64th on the 4k course in a time of 16:02.49.

"We have a big two weeks coming up," accentuated Boylan-Pett. "This upcoming week is another of hard training. We will be getting ready for the Metro Championship."
