The University of Chicago women's cross country team dominated the top of the leaderboard at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships on Friday.

The Maroon women won the team title out of 17 teams participating in the 5K. UChicago scored 28 points to outdistance runner-up University of St. Francis (62 points). The Maroons placed five racers in the top 10. Sophomore Khia Kurtenbach and senior Brianna Hickey led the charge by taking first and second in times of 18:23.7 and 18:26.2, respectively. The next closest opponent finished 11.5 seconds behind. The other top 10 placers included the sophomore trio of Kelsey Dunn (6th, 18:49.1), Cassidy McPherson (9th, 19:02.1) and Claire Costelloe (10th, 19:05.5).
