The Brandeis men's and women's cross country team finished 5th on Saturday at the Connecticut College XC Invitational. Emily Bryson (Quincy, Mass./North Qunicy) logged her 4th consecutive top 3 finish in as many races, coming in 2nd overall with a 6K time of 21:40.0 for the women.
FOR THE WOMEN
- The women finished 5th overall with a total of 197 team points, 84 points behind the 4thplace Desales University and 23 points ahead of 6th place York College (PA).
- The women's race featured New England ranked #3 Middlebury (#9 Nationally), #4 Tufts (#13), #7 Brandeis, and nationally ranked #6 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and #34 Desales
- Emily Bryson covered the 6K course in just 21:40.0, only 15.5 seconds off of the winner from Middlebury College
- In four meets this season, Emily has finished first, third, and second twice. She has never finished lower than ninth at an Invitational meet
- Twin sister Julia Bryson (Quincy, Mass./North Quincy) came in second for the team finishing 19th overall with a time of 22:30.8
- Kyra Shreeve (Northborough, Mass./Algonquin Reg.), Meaghan Barry(Marlborough, Mass./Marlborough), and Danielle Bertaux (Prides Crossing, Mass./Beverly) rounded out the top five with times of 23:31.1, 23:33.6, and 24:30.1
