NYU Competes at Paul Short Run

From NYU Athletics

The New York University women's cross country team placed 37th at Lehigh University's Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, PA, on Saturday, October 1.

NYU compiled a total of 1,027 points over the 6K course.

"It was a pretty rough go for us," said Erison Hurtault. "A couple of our top runners couldn't finish the race due to injury and illness. We are hoping for a better performance next time."

Juniors Megan Davis and Lara Dorsky led the Violets on the day, finishing in 157th (23:15) and 163rd (23:21), respectively.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Senior Justine Morris placed 199th by posting a time of 23:50.

- Junior Morel Malcolm finished in 226th with a time of 24:08.

- Sophomore Anastasia Filimontseva and junior Alexa Goldman trailed behind in 282nd (25:55) and 285th (26:05) place, respectvely.

"We are going to have to use this as a small step forward," Hurtault said. "We have less than a month before the University Athletic Association (UAA) Championship. We need to get our runners across the finish line. Biggest hurdle is health and getting everyone across."
