Yellowjackets Compete At Lehigh Paul Short Run

The Rochester women's cross country team finished mid-pack at the 2016 Lehigh University Paul Short Run on Saturday, placing 26th of 42 schools.

UR competed in the Paul Short Brown Division, which was the second highest group of competition and featured Division I, II and III programs from around the country.  The Paul Short Run is annually one of the largest cross country races in the nation.

Overall, the Yellowjackets accumulated 672 team points.  Division I Princeton took the team title, finishing with all seven runners within the top-15 of the over 350 runners.  Middlebury was the top Division III program, ending in fourth. 

Sophomore Rachel Bargabos was the lead UR runner in the race, finishing in 77th place after she completed the 6k course in 22:30.

Senior Audrey McCarthy and junior Ayumi Yuasa finished one second apart at 23:01 and 23:02 respectively, winding up in 142nd and 144th overall.

Sophomore Ariane Hasbrouck placed 170th with her time of 23:16 while junior Clara Wolfe was the fifth Rochester finisher in 182nd place, clocking in at 23:25.

Freshman runner Julia Myers was 209th with her time of 23:43 and classmate Kelly Reese finished 267th in 24:16 to be the Yellowjacket displacers on Saturday.
