From NYU Athletics

The New York University women's cross country team returned to action for the first time in 21 days and posted a 10th-place finish in the College Women Brown 6K Race at Lehigh University's Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, PA, on Friday, September 29.

In a 20-team competition consisting of NCAA Division II and III squads, the Violets totaled 257, just six behind ninth-place finisher Oberlin College.  Edinboro University won the race with 81 points.

Leading the way for NYU was Sabrina Herrmann, who finished in 10th place individually with a time of 22:14. Hannah Haley took 24th place with a time of 22:29.

"Sabrina and Hannah ran really well," said Head Coach Erison Hurtault. "They did what we expected from them."

Next to cross the finish line for the Violets was Isabella Steains, who took 62nd place with a time of 23:19.

Also scoring for NYU were Megan Davis (23:29, 74th place) and Lara Dorsky (23:44, 87th place).

"The results were not too surprising since we haven't raced in three weeks," Hurtault said. "But, we've been training well and I think performances will pick up as we get into the most important parts of our season."

- Non-scorers Emily Dethlefs (24:21) and Karen Yao (24:38), finished 113th and 124th, respectively.
