Yellowjackets Place Fourth, Second in DIII, At Geneseo

Backed by two runners placing among the top-20 runners, the University of Rochester women's cross country team finished in 4th place among 15 teams at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Letchworth State Park.
 
Overall, the Yellowjackets were the second Division III team in the event, scoring 124 team points, finishing behind the Geneseo Alumni which took the team title with 32 points, host SUNY Geneseo who ended with 38 points and Canadian school Laurentian University who had 72 points.
 
Junior Rachel Bargabos placed 11th overall in a field of 197 runners, posting a time of 22:25.9 for the 6-kilometer course.  She was overall the fifth Division III finisher in the race.
 
Classmate Samantha Tetef had a strong run to earn a 19th place finish, crossing the finish in 23:11.5.  First-year Danielle Bartolotta ended 31st in 23:31.2.
 
Sophomore Kelly Reese and senior Ayumi Yuasa rounded out UR's scoring lineup.  Reese finished 35th in 23:36.9 while Yuasa earned a 42nd place result in a time of 23:48.4.
 
The Yellowjacket displacers were Julia Myers in 47th (23:51.8) and Erin Tepesch in 48th (23:52.5).
