Rachel Bargabos of Rochester Earns Second Team All-UAA Honors

Rachel Bargabos ran to a 13th place finish at the University Athletic Association women's cross country championship on Saturday afternoon.
 
Her finish in 24:18.7 and placing of #13 overall means she will earn Second Team All-UAA honors. As a team, Rochester finished eighth with 174 points. Washington University (37 points) and Chicago (74) were the only two teams with less than 100 points in placements. Chicago had the meet champion. Washington placed all five scorers in the top 10.
 
Rochester had its other four scorers behind Bargabos cross the finish line about 38 seconds apart – from Danielle Bartolotta in 33rd place (25:25.8) to Briann Loughran in 46th place (26:03.6).
 
First-year Eileen Bequette was the third UR runner to finish – timed in 25:31.7 (38th). Samantha Tetef was the fourth Rochester runner to complete the course (25:54.6). The fifth scorer was Loughran. The displacers were Ayumi Yuasa (26:06.7) and Ariane Hasbrouck (26:15.1).
