Emory Enjoys Fine Performances At Pre-Nationals

The Emory women’s cross country team recorded fine performances on Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Pre-Nationals at the Lake Breeze Golf Club Winneconne, Wisconsin.

The women’s side, ranked 28th nationally, totaled 296 points en route to a 10th-place finish out of 52 teams. No. 1-ranked Washington University claimed the top spot with 70 points while No. 4 MIT was runner-up with 108 points. No. 18 Brandeis was third (213 pts.) and No. 12 Wheaton held down fourth (236 pts.). Senior Kaylee Slade paced the Eagles’ pack and ranked 27th out of 349 entries with a 6K time effort of 22:43. 

Sophomore Carrie McIntyre was the second Emory performer to cross the finish in a time of 23:10, good for 51st place. Senior Kayla O’Shea (23:13, 54th place) and sophomore Susie Martin (23:15, 56th place) were close behind McIntyre while senior Maeve Andrews rounded out the team’s scorers with an effort of 23:52, placing her 108th.
