#10 men's tennis falls to #5 Bowdoin, 3-6

The Brandeis University men's tennis team ranked #10 was defeated by #5 Bowdoin, 3-6 today. With the loss the Judges fall to 12-3, while the Polar Bears improve to 10-1.

In doubles play, the Judges dropped one at No. 3 as duo of sophomore Nikhil Das (Smithfield, R.I. / Moses Brown School) and sophomore Rajan Vohra (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) fell, 2-8. But the Judges would respond at No. 1 as junior David Aizenberg (Highland Park, Ill./Highland Park) and sophomore Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) earned a 8-6 victory, while at No. 2 duo of rookie Jeffrey Chen (Northfield, Ill. / New Trier) and rookie Adam Tzeng (Eagle, Idaho/Eagle) claimed 8-5 victory to give the Judges a 2-1 heading into singles.

In singles play, the Polar Bears were able to even the score at No. 1 as junior Aizenberg fell 2-6, 2-6. The Judges would respond and regain the lead at No. 4 as rookie Chen claimed a 6-4, 6-1 victory. However, the Judges would drop the last four matches, as they were unable to stop Bowdoin in singles play as Coramutla fell 1-6, 4-6 at No. 2, and sophomore Das fell 2-6, 6-3, 2-6, at No. 5. Sophomore Vohra dropped a three set match, 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 at No. 6, while rookie Tzeng also dropped a hard fought three set match, 7-5, 3-6, 5-7.

The Judges will look to bounce back tomorrow as they will host NYU for a 10:00 a.m. match.
