Southwestern Men's Tennis was defeated by Carnegie Mellon in an away match on Friday, March 10, 2023. The Pirates lost 4-5 in quite the battle.

Following doubles, the Pirates were down 1-2. Throughout doubles, the men were fighting hard but could only get a win on one out of three courts. Oscar Roy and Ashton Ellis got the single point for the men. Parth Patel and Bernardo Clemente as well as Steven Tibbetts and Anton Borovik had hard fought matches but could not quite grasp the win.

Entering singles down 1-2, the men knew they had some tough matches ahead of them. The stress was high but the men stayed positive. They knew they had six incredible players going out to leave everything on court to try to win.

Anton Borovik won 6-4 in the third set with high energy after losing the first 5-7. Borovik gained a crucial point for the Pirates! His final score was 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. Steven Tibbetts also won his match 10-4 in a ten point tie breaker, gaining another point for the Pirates in addition to Borovik.

While Southwestern Men's Tennis did not have their best performance, they are keeping their heads up for their match against Kenyon on March 11, 2023. The Pirates' final score against Carnegie Mellon was 4-5. Remember to show up for the Conference Tournament which will be held at your very own Southwestern University, April 28-30!
