TUCSON, Ariz. – The Macalester College softball team lost both games today on their last day of play in Tucson today. The Scots lost to Case Western Reserve and Buena Vista University and will head back home with a record of 6-10.

Against Case, Macalester fell behind six until the Scots scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth, both on a single by first year
Audrey Meade (Cedar Hills, Utah/Pleasant Grove). Case Western closed the seventh off and the Scots lost 6-2.

In the second game, the Scots had a tough loss against Buena Vista University losing 26-3. First year Meade and
Kate Lawhead (Battle Ground, Wash./Prairie) both singled in the bottom of the second to make the score 3-2 to Buena Vista. Buena Vista scored two runs in the second which the Scots answered with a  on run single by first year Meade again.

Meade was one for one and three for four at the plate today against Case Western and Buena Vista, respectively, with four RBI's on the day. Sophomore
Julia Carpenter (Stevensville, Mich./Lakeshore) was three for three at the plate against Buena Vista and
Morghan Bean (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) was two for three.
Junior pitcherÂ
Sophie Migacz (McHenry, Ill./McHenry West) pitched two innings against Buena Vista and both first years
Emily Cekander (River Forest, Ill./Oak Park River Forest) and
Ava Cutler (New York, N.Y./Bronx Science) saw pitching action today. Cekander and Bean split the first game against Case.

The Scots return home to a double header against the University of Northwestern (Minn.) on Saturday, Mar. 24 beginning at 1:00 p.m. CDT.
