#13 Tartans Drop Battle with #16 Kenyon

(ORLANDO, Fla.) - The 13th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team played the 16th-ranked Lords of Kenyon College on Monday afternoon at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida. The Tartans fell 7-2 to the Lords in move to 6-3 overall while Kenyon is also 6-3.

Kenyon took a 2-1 lead heading into singles play with the Tartans win coming at the third spot. The tandem of freshman Jonathan Nottingham (Philadelphia, Pa. / Masterman High School) and sophomore Sam Gibson (Chico, Calif. / Pleasant Valley) were victorious by the score of 8-1.

Carnegie Mellon's lone win in singles play came when freshman Raahil Doshi (Singapore, Singapore / Anglo - Chinese School (Independent), Singapore) won 6-3, 6-4 at four.

The Tartans will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they play University Athletic Association counterpart and ninth-ranked Case Western Reserve University at 11:30 a.m.
