A pair of second half goals paved the way for the Emory University men's soccer team Wednesday night as the Eagles earned their third consecutive win, defeating Sewanee, 2-1, at Puett Field in Sewanee, TN.

Freshman Owen Hallauer and senior William Jones helped erase a 1-0 deficit as Emory improved to 4-3-1 on the year while the loss drops the Tigers to 5-2-1. Sophomore Max Carlson made six saves, four in the second half, in the win as he improved to 3-0-1 at the keeper position.

Neither team was able to score in the early goings of the match as both programs combined for three shots on goal before Sewanee broke through in the 38^th minute on a set piece goal by Rhodes Hall.

The Eagles trailed 1-0 until Hallauer tied the match with his first career goal in the 53^rd minute. A shot by junior Nate Sampson was saved with the rebound finding Hallauer who finished it home.

Ten minutes later in the 63rd, Jones put Emory ahead with his first goal of the season. Jones corralled the loose ball through a ton of commotion in the middle of the box following a corner kick, finishing to the lower right corner for the go-ahead marker.

Sewanee managed just one shot on goal over the final 27 minutes of game play as the Tigers suffered their first loss at home this season.

The Eagles look to keep their winning streak going as the team returns to the field Sunday afternoon against Rhodes College. Kick off from the WoodPEC is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
