ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 13 Case Western Reserve Friday at DiSanto Field in Cleveland. The loss drops the Polar Bears to 4-2-2 overall.
Senior forward Rose Nienaber (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) boasted Northern's lone goal — her fourth of the season — on a penalty kick in the 90th minute.
Northern recorded 10 shots on the night, four of which were on target. Nienaber led the way with three shots, while senior midfielder Haley Moses (Mason), junior midfielder Abigail Mathews (Liberty Township/Lakota East) and junior forward Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) all had two shots apiece.
ONU senior goaltender Meagan Grierson (Dayton/Miamisburg) registered three saves.
Case Western Reserve logged 14 shots in all, six on frame. Kimberly Chen, Maia Sethi and Merry Meyer boasted the three goals for the Spartans,
The Polar Bears will remain on the road and battle Wittenberg Wednesday at 7 p.m.
