(PITTSBURGH, Pa.) – The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team topped Waynesburg University, 91-48, on Saturday, December 3 to move to 7-0 for the season behind 27 points from sophomore Catherine Or. The Yellow Jackets are now 0-7.
How it Happened
- The Tartans held Waynesburg to 1-of-12 shooting and five points in the first quarter to take a 28-5 lead.
- Or was 6-of-7 in the first quarter, scoring 15 of her game and season-high 27 points.
- Freshman Savannah Gibbs hit two three-pointers in the second quarter to help the Tartans extend the lead by five points to 28 at halftime.
- The bench led the Tartans in the third quarter, scoring 16 points with junior Jamie Joseph leading with five.
- The Tartans continued their hot shooting in the final frame, hitting 56.3% from the floor with the bench scoring 19 of 21 points.
