Women's Soccer Falls to No. 8 Case Western Reserve

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University Women's Soccer team fell to No. 8 nationally ranked Case Western Reserve University on DiSanto Field for its first loss of the season.

BW Leaders (4-1-1)

  • Junior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference goalkeeper Katie Scott (Lewis Center/Olentangy) had seven saves on the day
  • Senior All-OAC forward Sydney Rice (North Royalton) led the team with two shots

Case Western Reserve Leaders (6-0-1)

  • Junior forward Carolyn Koutures, junior defender Katie Rishel, and sophomore midfielder Ceci Dapino each recorded one goal
  • Sophomore forward Andrea Silva tallied an assist and two shots
  • Senior goalkeeper Maggie Storti hadthree saves

First Half (CWRU 2-0)

  • 9:47     Koutures found the back of the net for the first goal of the day
  • 27:43   Rishel unassisted goal 

Second Half (CWRU 3-0)

  • 59:59   Silva passed it to Dapino for a Spartan goal

The Yellow Jackets are back in action Wednesday, September 20 when they travel to Delaware for a non-conference match-up against Ohio Wesleyan University inside the Jay Martin Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
