Men's Tennis Drops 8-1 Decision to #14 CWRU

HAINES CITY, Fla. - The Austin College Men's Tennis Team battled the 14th-ranked Case Western Reserve University Spartans on Day 2 of their Spring Break Tour in Orlando, FL.

The Spartans emerged victorious by a score of 8-1, but Andres Padilla was able to prevent the sweep with a herculean effort, and doubles competition saw the return of the West #6 tandem of Kenneth Hardy/Siddharth Kortikere.

Padilla was ahead of his opponent for much of the first set, but dropped a tiebreaker 7-3 in the first.  He caught fire in the second, winning it 6-3, and battled to an 11-9 victory in the third set super-tiebreaker to register the lone point scored for the Kangaroos.

Austin College returns to the courts in Altamonte Springs, Florida against the 2nd place team from 2018's CCIW Championships, Wheaton College, in their final match of the trip.
