A balanced scoring attack led by senior Erin Lindahl paced the Emory University women's basketball team past the University of Lynchburg, 52-39, Friday evening at the Woodruff Gymnasium on the campus of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.

Lindahl tallied a game-high 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting with junior Molly Weiss and senior Allison Chernow both adding nine points apiece. Chernow collected a career-high tying 11 boards including 10 on the defensive glass while sophomore Tori Huggins netted seven points to go along with eight boards in 28 minutes off the bench.

The Eagles raced out to a 30-12 halftime lead as Emory held the Hornets to 5-of-30 shooting from the field compared to the Eagles' 11-for-29 effort during the opening two quarters. Following the break, Lynchburg rebounded, opening the second half on a 21-9 run to cut the Emory lead to 38-33 with 9:03 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Following a timeout by the Eagles at the 8:47 mark, Emory's lead jumped back to 10 thanks to a layup by senior Lindsey Tse and three-point made by Weiss. After a Lynchburg three cut it 43-36, Chernow took control, scoring seven of the Eagles' final nine points as Emory closed out the contest with a 14-6 run to improve to 2-0 on the year.

For the game, the Eagles shot 34.5-percent (20-for-58) from the field and 35.7-percent (5-for-14) behind the three-point line. The Hornets managed to shoot just 29.3-percent (17-for-58) overall and were 3-for-17 from behind the arc. Lynchburg (1-2) also struggled from the charity strip, going 2-for-8 from the line.
