Boppana Falls in ITA Regional Semifinal

(FREDERICKSBURG, Va.) - Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis junior Ray Boppana (Boxborough, Mass. / Acton Boxborough Regional) continued action at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Tournament on Sunday, October 6 in the semifinals. The junior dropped the match in two sets to senior Alec Angradi of Salisbury University.

Boppana, seeded fourth, faced Angradi, seeded second, for a chance to play in the regional final for the second time in three years, but the senior from Salisbury ended his run with a 6-3, 7-5 win. Boppana nearly forced a third set but Angradi rallied from a 5-1 deficit for the two-game win. Angradi, the 2019 Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year, went on to win the title with a three-set win in the final.
