BRONX, N.Y.—Swarthmore College Women's Tennis slipped 6-3 against NYU on Sunday afternoon in a marathon five-hour indoor match.
The Garnet earned a hard-fought win in second doubles, as
Elise Talley and
Christina Wang won 8-7 with an 8-6 win in the tiebreaker game.
Swarthmore earned a pair of wins in singles action.
Vivien Fernandez-Ravelo won in third singles 7-6 (6), 6-4.
Christina Wang picked up the win in fifth singles 6-3, 7-5.
In second singles,
Sophie Brown battled, but fell 7-5, 7-6 (6).
Elise Talley claimed the second set in sixth singles and battled in the super tiebreaker before falling 12-10.
Swarthmore is back in action at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Orlando, Florida, with a match against Carnegie Mellon.
