Belles Fall to Knights, Tartans

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team lost a 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-17) match against Arcadia before coming up short in a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-13) final against host Carnegie Mellon at the Tartans' Tournament on Saturday.

Lindsey Pelletier had a team-high eight kills and three blocks against Arcadia in the opening match of the day. Nicole Lukens added seven kills and a match-high 20 digs to go along with three aces. Audrey Shannon posted 15 digs while Brittney Tarkanyi tallied 11 digs. Morgan VanderWey collected 21 assists and seven digs with two aces in the match.

Lukens led all players in the second match with 11 kills while garnering a double-double with 14 digs. Alyssa Chong posted six kills, and Nola Wallace added five kills. VanderWey had 27 assists, and Shannon picked up 10 digs.

The Belles (11-17) return home to host Kalamazoo for a conference match on Wednesday, October 24 starting at 7:00 p.m.
