CLEVELAND — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team bowed out of the NCAA III Tournament in the Second Round with a 2-0 loss at No. 10-ranked Case Western Reserve Saturday afternoon at DiSanto Field.
The Ohio Athletic Conference champion Polar Bears end their season with a 14-5-3 overall record, while the Spartans advance to the Sweet 16 with a 16-1-2 record.
Case went ahead 1-0 with a goal in the 25th minute, then got an insurance goal ion the 68th minute to make it 2-0.
Senior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) had five saves in goal as ONU was out-shot by CWRU 23-4.
Sophomore Kylie Cabana (Dexter, Mich.) had three of ONU's four shot attempts in the contest.
The Polar Bears are now 5-5-2 all-time in NCAA III Tournament play and have advanced to the Second Round in their last five appearances.
