Men's soccer blanked by Washington-St. Louis

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The men's soccer team had their winning streak snapped at seven when Washington-St. Louis visited Greenville on Monday night and gave the Panthers a 5-0 loss.

Despite the deficit on the scoreboard, Greenville managed to provide several opportunities to produce a goal.

The Panthers offered eight shots in the match, and three shots were on goal.

Edgar Bueno, Ian MacLean, and Juan Jose Herranz all tallied a shot on goal.

The Bears got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute and again in the 42nd minute to take a 2-0 lead at halftime.  They later added goals in the 54th, 65th, and 73rd minutes of the match.

Greenville goalkeeper Nick Holland came up with some brilliant saves as he ended with three saves in the match.  Washington took 11 shots in the match.

The Panthers (7-2) open conference play on Saturday when Iowa Wesleyan visits Greenville for a match at 5 p.m.
