#27 Tartans Open Play at UAA Championship Against #12 WashU

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The 27th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University men's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Thursday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, and dropped a 5-1 match to 12th-ranked Washington University in St. Louis. The Tartans record is now 6-10 as the Bears move to 11-9.
How it Happened:
- WashU took a 2-1 advantage following doubles play.
- The tandem of senior Derek Wong and sophomore Akshay Joshi won the Tartans lone match in doubles with an 8-7 (3) victory at the two spot.
- When play was stopped, Joshi was in the third set at six singles. senior Nicholas Wernink at third and freshman Raghav Jangbahadur
- at one.

- Carnegie Mellon will now play Brandeis on Friday in the consolation semifinals at 12:30 p.m.
