#15 Tartans Open Play at UAA Championship Against #13 Case Western Reserve

(ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla.) - The 15th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team opened University Athletic Association (UAA) play on Friday at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida, with a 5-3 setback to 13th-ranked Case Western Reserve University. The Tartans moved to 11-6 overall while the Spartans are now 14-4.
How it Happened:
- The Tartans trailed 2-1 following doubles play with the team point coming in the third spot when the duo of junior Sarah Yang and sophomore Anika Joshi won an 8-7 (11) match.
- After the Spartans took a 3-2 lead with a win at six singles, Joshi won 6-2, 6-1 at five singles to make the score 3-2.
- Sophomore Divya Venkatarama then knotted the score at 3-all with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at third singles.
- Case Western then won at one and four singles to seal the win for the Spartans.

- The Tartans will now play the University of Rochester in the consolation semifinals at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.
