#10 women's tennis headed to 7th place match at ITA Indoor Championships after 9-0 loss to #9 MIT

NICHOLASVILLE, Kent. – The 10th-ranked Brandeis University women's tennis team will play for seventh place at the 2020 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Indoor Championships after dropping a 9-0 decision to #9 MIT today at Centre College in Kentucky. The Judges (0-4) will meet the host Colonels tomorrow at 8 a.m.

In the second meeting of the season between the Judges and Engineers, MIT prevailed again in a sweep. They won two of three doubles matches by 8-0 scores, with Judges Rachel Zubrinsky (Waxhaw, N.C./Marvin Ridge) and Isabel Cepeda (Mason, Ohio/William Mason) playing the closest match at #2, 8-4.

In singles action, MIT did not drop a set, winning eight with one or no games lost. Brandeis's best performances came at #2 and #3. At the second spot,    sophomore Ana Hatfield (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Central Catholic) dropped a 6-1, 6-4, decision. Zubrinsky lost a tight 6-3, 6-4, matchup at the third spot.
