Kyle Diangkinay Named New Media Manager at NYU

From NYU Athletics

Kyle Diangkinay has been hired in the newly-created position of New Media Manager within New York University's Department of Athletics.

A 2017 graduate of Wheaton (MA) College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business & Management Analytics & New Media, Diangkinay joins the Violets after starting his own multimedia company, Kyle Diangkinay Multimedia, in August of 2020. The company utilizes the guiding principle of "telling stories through sport" by editing high-quality multimedia content to bolster the notion that sports are a metaphor for life.

Diangkinay, who also earned a Master's of Business in Leadership in 2019 from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, served as a Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communications. He wrote and edited press releases, game recaps and feature stories as part of maintaining the University's athletics website. Diangkinay also created and supplied content for their social media platforms.

"I am thrilled to be joining such a world-renowned institution and globally-recognized brand at New York University," Diangkinay said. "As a native New Yorker with a passion for sport and storytelling, this role couldn't have been a better fit. I cannot even begin to verbalize how excited I am to have the opportunity to share some of the amazing stories that NYU's Athletic Community deserves to have showcased, amplified and celebrated."

Diangkinay also served as the Coordinator of National Team Operations for the Baseball World Classic (WBC) in 2020. Part of his duties included monitoring and facilitating the flow of information and progress of documentation between the Major League Baseball operations department, WBC organizers and the National Team.

Diangkinay also has experience working for Nike in the role of Athlete & Community Ambassador (2016-20) and for the United States Tennis Association (2019-20) in Operations and Player Relations.

"I am looking forward to working with Kyle," said NYU Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Director of Athletics, Stuart Robinson, who secured an NCAA Grant to help create the position. "From the first time that I was introduced to Kyle, he has and continues to impress me with his insights and energy in regards to new media and the stories that could/should be told about our department. I am excited to collaborate with him as we identify and explore ways to tell our stories and to engage our students."

Diangkinay is a native and resident of Queens, NY.
