From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team, ranked 12th nationally, won the 22-team O'Briant-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College on The Cardinal By Pete Dye Course in Greensboro, North Carolina on Tuesday. The Tartans carded a school record round of three-under par 281 on Tuesday to go with their 294 on Monday for a 36-hole score of 575 on the par 71, 6,743-yard course.

The Tartans tied University Athletic Association counterpart Emory, ranked third nationally, but won the tiebreaker which was the lowest combined total of the noncounting score over the two rounds (151-153).

Freshman Raymond Li (Del Mar, Calif.) tied the school record for the lowest individual round in the program's history, as he carded a five-under par 66 to lead the Tartans. The freshman made three birdies and for the second straight round eagled hole 10 on Tuesday afternoon. He finished the 36-hole event with a 139 (73-66) to place second individually in a field of 120 golfers. His 139 is tied for the second lowest two-round (36-hole) tournament total in program history.

Junior Jason Li (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley Academy) rebounded from his round of 75 to open play Monday and carded a three-under 68 on Tuesday to complete play with a 143. The junior tied for eighth and it marked his seventh round this fall that he shot even-par or lower.

Junior Jason Folker (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) fired his best round of the fall, as he entered the clubhouse on Tuesday with an one-over par 72. Folker shot a 146 (74-72) over the two rounds. Junior Jay Milch (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Fox Lane) and Joshua Lim (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) both carded a 149 for the memorial. Milch recorded rounds of 73 and 76, while Lin shot rounds of 74 and 75.

The Tartans had one individual enter the event, as freshman Brian Li (Beijing, China/Blair Academy) carded a 147 (74-73).
