From Emory University Athletics

Individual honors for members of the Emory men's golf team continue to roll in with the announcement of the 2020 PING All-America and All-University Athletic Association Teams.

Four players were recognized as All-Americans while three landed spots on the all-league team.

Sophomores Logan Ryan (Fort Wayne, IN) and Max Schwarz (Paradise Valley, AZ) were tabbed as Second Team All-America choices following solid seasons.

Ryan, the 2019 Phil Mickelson Award winner as the D-III Freshman of the Year, competed in five tournaments and averaged 72.4 strokes over 14 rounds of play.  He turned in a pair of top-10 overall finishes including medalist honors in the 120-player field at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial with a 36-hole score of 137, tying the school record for a two-round event.  Ryan carded five rounds of par or better during the season including a program-record 65 at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial. Ryan was Honorable Mention All-American last year.

Schwarz, in his first season as a member of the playing group, held down the No. 2 spot on the squad in scoring with an effort of 71.9 strokes over 14 rounds.  Tied for the team lead with eight rounds of par or better, he ranked as the Eagles No. 2 finisher at the Golfweek Fall Preview and the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial. His best 18-hole outing was a three-under par 68 during the opening round of the Golfweek Fall Preview.

Senior Matt Organisak (Sudbury, MA) was selected as a Third Team All-American.  No. 2 on the Eagles' all-time scoring list (73.04 spg), Organisak paced the squad in scoring during his final campaign at 71.8 strokes per round. He placed as the team's No. 1 performer at the Gordin Collegiate Classic, earning UAA Player of the Week honors in the process, after tying for fifth overall out of 75 players with a 54-hole score of 211, and the Golfweek Fall Preview where he carded a three-round mark of 212. He tied for the team lead with eight rounds of par or better (38 during his career).  Organisak closes out his distinguished career as a four-time All-American, having been a second-team honoree during his first three years.

Junior Eric Yiu (Shenzhen, Guandong, China) brought home honorable-mention accolades on the All-America Team, averaging 72.1 strokes over 14 rounds.  Yiu was Emory's No. 1 scorer and tied for third out of 90 competitors at the DIII Fall Preview with an even-par 216, which resulted in him earning UAA Player of the Week recognition, and co-tied for the Eagles' No 1 spot with Sam Galloway at the Savannah Invitational with a six-under par 210, tying the program's fourth-best score for a 54-hole tournament. It is the second straight honorable mention All-America berth for Yiu.

Organisak, Ryan and Schwarz were named All-UAA Athletic Association.  It represented Organisak's fourth nod on the all-conference squad while Ryan was chosen for the second straight season.  Schwarz landed his initial honor.
