Aaron Katsimpalis and Scott Lich of UChicago Earn D3soccer.com All-American Distinction

University of Chicago men's soccer players Aaron Katsimpalis and Scott Lich were each honored as D3soccer.com All-Americans on Wednesday.

Katsimpalis was a Second Team All-America pick at goalkeeper. The junior's standout season also included United Soccer Coaches (USC) Second Team All-American, First Team All-Region and First Team All-University Athletic Association (UAA) accolades.

By season's end, Katsimpalis posted a 12-2-5 overall record with a 0.64 goals against average, 73 saves, .849 save percentage and 10 shutouts. He now ranks second all-time in program history with 24 shutouts and is third in career goals against average (0.69).

Lich was a Third Team All-America selection from his position at right back. He was previously named UAA Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-Region.

Lich started all 19 games on a defense that shut out 10 opponents and allowed 0.68 goals per game. Offensively, Lich scored three goals of his own, including game-winning strikes versus Case Western Reserve University and Washington University – St. Louis.

The 2019 Maroons reached the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship. They also became the first time in UAA history to go 7-0 with no goals allowed in conference play.

UChicago's men have totaled 11 All-American honors from D3soccer.com since 2016.
