From University of Rochester Athletics

Rochester seniors Zach Lawlor and Mitch Volis have been named to the 2019 All-East Region soccer team as selected by the United Soccer Coaches. Both men are Second Team Selections.

This is the second post-season honor for each player. At the end of the regular season, they were both named First Team All-University Athletic Association.

Lawlor mastered the center midfielder's role and Volis was a consistent threat attacking along the left wing. Rochester finished the overall season at 12-6-1, 3-3-1 in the UAA. UR was one of two UAA men's teams selected for the NCAA Division III playoffs. It was the team's fourth consecutive playoff appearance and the 13th since 2005.

The Yellowjackets played four overtime games, one of them going to double OT. That tally included an overtime loss to Kenyon College in the second round of the NCAA playoffs.

Lawlor (Webster, NY/Aquinas Institute) played in 17 games, totaling more than 1,550 minutes. He finished with four goals, four assists for 12 points. He was sixth in scoring in the UAA and finished in the top 10 in the league in goals, assists, and game-winning goals.

In Rochester's last two home games (NYU and Brandeis), Lawlor dominated. He scored twice against NYU and registered an assist on Friday evening. Then he scored the gamewinning goal against Brandeis on Senior Day two days later.

Volis (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) led Rochester in assists with five and was second in scoring with nine points (two goals, five assists). He played in 17 games, logging more than 1,200 minutes. He tied for the UAA lead in assists and finished 14th in scoring among UAA players.
