Violets Compete in Last Chance Meet

From NYU Athletics

The New York University men's swimming team competed in the NYU Last Chance Meet on Saturday, February 22, at the Palladium Athletic Facility in Manhattan.

Also competing in the meet were the College of Saint Rose, Assumption College, Stevens Institute of Technology, and Southern Connecticut State University.

As the name suggests, this meet was the last chance for swimmers to earn NCAA cuts ahead of the championships.

On the men's side, the Violets' Jacob Haines (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and Justin Lum (Ventura, CA/Ventura) successfully earned cuts in the 200-yard breaststroke after swimming times of 2:02.91 and 2:03.92, respectively. Later, in the 200-yard backstroke, Josh Rine (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek) also earned a cut with his 1:49.24 finish.
