Trey Razanauskas of CWRU Receives Academic All-District Honors

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Case Western Reserve University's Trey Razanauskas, who recently completed his senior season for the Spartans' Cross Country and Track & Field Teams, was named to the Academic All-District Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Due to pandemic, a focus this year was placed on nominees' career athletic achievements, rather than season achievements. CWRU is a part of District 7, which encompasses all Division III programs in Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

Although he did not compete during the 2020-21 campaign, Razanauskas recorded one of the top careers by a distance runner in the program's history over the course of his sophomore and junior seasons. He claimed a pair of all-region honors over his career, including a fourth-place finish at the Great Lakes Region Championships in 2019. He also earned all-University Athletic Association First Team honors in 2019, and second team honors during the 2018 meet.

Razanauskas was also a standout in track, placing ninth in the 5,000-meter run at the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and 15th in the 5,000-meter run at the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. He claimed the 2019 UAA Outdoor Championship in the 10,000-meter run, while securing two additional all-UAA honors over his career. Razanauskas is the school-record holder in both the indoor (14:40.40) and outdoor (14:24.91) 5,000-meter run.

Academically, Razanauskas holds a cumulative 3.964 cumulative grade point average as a Philosophy major. He is a multiple time UAA All-Academic honoree, and is a two-time UAA Presidents' Council Scholar-Athlete.
