From Washington University Athletics

The Washington University in St. Louis track & field team closed out competition at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Saturday.

A total of seven student-athletes earned All-America honors for their performances.

Junior Jacob Ridderhoff was the first to reach All-American status, and grab the highest finish out of the Bears, with his runner-up performance in the 1,500-meter run. His personal-best time of 3:47.47 ranks third in program history.

First-year Will Houser also competed in the 1,500, wrapping up his first collegiate season as an All-American with his eighth-place finish. He clocked a 3:49.26 to secure the Bears' fourth-fastest time.

Junior Alex Cobin grabbed a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.24. He clocked the program's third fastest time earlier this season with a 1:51.32.

Senior Andrew Whitaker's 52.93 in the 400-meter prelims ranks fourth in program history. He recorded an eighth-place finish in the finals despite the down pour followed by rainy conditions.

The men's 4x400-meter relay, made up of Whitaker, sophomore Marcus-Jay Wilkes, first-year Alex Djetto and senior John Harry Wagner finished seventh in the finals. Their time of 3:10.87, recorded two weeks ago, is the second fastest in program history.
