Tartans Finish 18th at NCAA Championships

The Carnegie Mellon University men's cross country team closed the season with an 18th-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.

Senior Edward Goebel (Abington, Pa. / La Salle College) paced the Tartans across the 8k course at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park in Louisville, Kentucky, with a 49th-place finish in 25:07.1.

Junior Matt Karee (Elmira, N.Y. / Notre Dame) was second for the Tartans and 104th overall in a time of 25:29.5. Third for the Tartans was senior Hunter Hartshorne (Ithaca, N.Y. / Ithaca) in 115th place in 25:34.4. Senior Liam Walsh (Gaithersburg, Md. / Quince Orchard) was fourth for the Tartans and 121st overall in a time of 25:35.5.

Senior Evan Yukevich (Tokyo, Japan / American School in Japan) closed his career with a 199th-place finish in a time of 26:05.5 for the Tartans with fellow senior Josh Kalapos (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Mt. Lebanon) finishing 242nd in 26:27.4. Sophomore Michael OBroin (Park Ridge, Ill. / Saint Ignatius College Prep) was the final Tartan to cross the finish line when he did in 27:21.8 for 271st place.
