The Emory University women's basketball team sank a season-high 11 three-pointers, pulling away from Carnegie Mellon University, 66-53, Friday evening in Pittsburgh, PA.

Six different Eagles drained at least one from beyond the arc, led by junior Molly Weiss who went 4-for-9 from three point land as she finished with a game-high 14 points. Freshman Mariane Auza notched a career-high 11 points, with seven coming in the second half, to help the Eagles secure the road win.

Junior Blair Ripley, back in the starting lineup for the first time in 15 games, registered her third straight double-double, totaling 11 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, tying her season-high in that department. Ripley also continued to be force in the defensive zone, picking up another four blocks, marking her fifth game of the last seven with at least four or more blocks. She is now tied with Ashley Oldshue for the most by an Eagle in a single season with 55 rejections.

Senior Allison Chernow had 10 points in a team-high 22 minutes off the bench, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the floor and 2-for-2 from distance. Sophomore Tori Huggins filled the stat sheet in a reserve role, posting seven points, nine rebounds and a team-high three assists.

Leading 27-26 at the break, the Eagles put the clamps down in the third quarter, holding the Tartans to just eight points in the period as Emory began to distance itself from CMU. In front 35-32 at the 3:03 minute mark in the third, the Eagles broke off a 28-15 run over the next ten minutes of game action, using the long ball exclusively. 18 of the 28 points during the stretch came from behind the three point line, helping to give the Eagles their largest lead at 63-47 with 1:37 left to play in the fourth. Ripley led the run with seven points while Weiss and Auza each knocked down a pair of triples for six points.
