The top two scorers from the University of Rochester women's basketball team have both earned All-Region honors from D3hoops.com during the 2019-20 season.
Sophomore Julianna Okoniewski and first-year Hannah Lindemuth nearly mirrored their honors from the UAA earlier this month exactly, with Okoniewski earning 1st Team All-East region and Lindemuth being a 3rd Team All-Region choice and was selected as the regional Rookie of the Year.
From the UAA, Okoniewski was 1st Team, Lindemuth 2nd Team and the conference Rookie of the Year.
This season, Okoniewski finished with 12.1 points per game, second only to Lindemuth in the scoring column, while leading Rochester in rebounding (6.9 rebounds per game) and field goal percentage (.461). The sophomore also had 36 blocks, 28 steals and shot .714 from the free throw line in her 21 games played.
Okoniewski recorded five double-doubles on the season and notched a career-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds in a loss at Emory in January. Overall, she scored in double-figures in 13 contests, eclipsing 20 three times.
Lindemuth played in all 25 games during her rookie season with Rochester, moving to the starting lineup for the UAA season. She averaged a team best 13.2 points per game and added in 3.7 rebounds per game and 2.0 assists per contest. The first-year player shot .365 from the floor, .356 from 3-point range and a .828 from the free throw line. Additionally, she had 47 3-pointers, 16 steals and 20 blocked shots.
The Oakdale, PA native's best game of the year came late in the season against Brandeis where she scored 29 points, the most from a UR first-year player since 1995. Lindemuth sank multiple 3-pointers in all but one game and scored in double-figures 16 times, with 14 of those happening in UAA play. Her 47 triples ranked inside Rochester's top-15 for a single-season.
