From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

The 2019-20 Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team received academic recognition from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) when the association announced the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for each division. The Tartans ranked 10th among NCAA Division III institutions. The nine-member Cardinal and Gray team finished the year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.750.

The University of New Mexico (Division I) was named the recipient of the 2019-20 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award for the second straight year. The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA that includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2019-20 season. New Mexico's nine team members had an average GPA of 3.965. Leading Division II was Davenport University, as the team's eight members averaged a 3.918 GPA, while University of Texas at Dallas led Division III with a 3.860 average GPA.

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
