The No. 2-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team shot a combined score of 630 during the opening day of the Lady Red Wolves Classic hosted by Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark.
The Bears shot a 324 in the first 18 holes, and then improved by 18 strokes in the afternoon round with a 306.
WashU is the lone NCAA Division III school in the field of nine teams, which includes eight NCAA Division I schools. Arkansas State leads the field after a 578 (294-284) on day one.
Freshman Annie Mascot, the fifth-ranked played in NCAA Division III, held her own against the field of Division I opponents and sits in a tie for second place after a three-under 141 (70-71).
Emily Keeling leads the field with a 140 (70-70).
