Carnegie Mellon Women's Golf Continues to Hold Lead at 2021 NCAA Championship Following Second Round

The Carnegie Mellon University women's golf team continue to hold the lead following the second round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships. The Tartans fired a team score of 308 on Wednesday across the par-72, 5,818-yard Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, Michigan. The Cardinal and Gray currently have a 36-hole score of 620 (312-308) and lead the 25-team field by one-stroke over Methodist University.

Sophomore Alexis Sudjianto (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Latin School) continues to lead the Tartans after carding a two-over par 74 and has a 36-hole score of 149 (74-75) and is tied for second individually in a field of 131 golfers.

Sophomore Michelle Cao (Johns Creek, Ga./Northview) ended with a 76 Wednesday and is tied for 16th with junior Nadia Susanto (Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman), as both golfers have a 158. Susanto fired a season-best round of four-over par 76 for round two. Freshman Denise Pan (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) shot an 81 and has a 36-hole score of 159 while senior Charlotte Simpson (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr School) ended day two with an 88 and has a 166 entering play Thursday.

Play continues on Thursday with the third round. Simpson will tee off first for the Tartans at 1:20 p.m. Following the third round, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams to compete the final day.
