Carnegie Mellon University women's soccer freshman Alex Adams (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Allegheny) was named to the 2019 D3soccer.com Women's All-America Team, becoming the sixth Tartan to be honored by the site. The team of 33 was selected from 569 nominations by a committee of D3soccer.com staff, Division III soccer coaches and sports information directors. Adams was selected to the third team.

Adams is the only freshman on the 2019 team and just the third first-year player to appear on any D3soccer.com women's award list in the award's 10-year existence. She is the second Tartan freshman to receive recognition from D3soccer.com, joining Keely Jelinek who was also named to the third team as a freshman defender in 2014.

The first-year forward caught the attention of the voters by leading the Tartans with 14 goals and six assists for 34 points. Eleven of her goals, including seven game-winners, came during the regular season which garnered her All-America recognition by United Soccer Coaches on the third team. Adams closed her rookie campaign with the school record for points in a season while tying the season record for most goals, a record set in 1995. Other honors for Adams during her record-setting season were All-University Athletic Association (UAA) First Team and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Rookie of the Year honors.

Adams was named the UAA Athlete of the Week twice with her second honor coming after scoring two goals and assisting on three during the opening weekend of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament. Adams also assisted on four game-winning goals, had a shot percentage of .246 and put 64.9% of her shots on frame. The forward recorded three multi-goal games this season and converted her penalty kick during the NCAA Sectional Final shootout helping the Tartans advance to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship national semifinals.
